Yay! I am a geek! I went to the midnight celebration and bought my copy of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince shortly after midnight! However, I wasn't alone. I went with Nicole, Nick, and their friend Michelle, and saw Katy R, Chris, and Regan, Colleen from Caribou, as well as some other... people... So I am not alone in my loser-ness! HaHA!
The odd thing is I think I may fall asleep in like a half-hour before I even get to read more than ten pages, beacuse I have to go to work tomorrow morning, at 10:30, but still. I need sleep for my long day of work and grad parties!
And now, I leave you with an excerpt from my REAL journal, and you can guess what I'm talking about:
...It was like in a scary movie when they show a tranquil scene and then suddenly something appears in the frame, accompanied by some percussive pow of sound, and together they evoke utter shock. I was shocked. I started fidgeting and suddenly felt very self-conscious and almost dizzy. From that point on I scanned the horizon constantly for the figure. Then, on the way out, I nearly collided with it. Fortunately it is either completely self-involved or completely ignoring me, either way I passed undetected, as usual. I often wonder whether I am really always unseen. To add insult to injury, I walked right past a particular car on the way out. It's nights like these that violently interfere with the self-mollifying mantra "if anything were meant to happen, it would have happened" because, while I don't whole-heartedly believe in fate, I can't believe that our recurring coincidence could possibly be a mere coincidence. Eh, good riddance...
